nocturnes as long as I’ve been taking pictures.  Shortly after I became a  jazz fan, I was asked to shoot a set for a friend.  Intrigued by the challenge of taking shots of moving subjects in very low light, I accepted the job. It turned out to be completely different then I’d expected.  There’s something about seeing this music in the moment while it’s being made, the passion and effort of the artists. Jazz is the high wire act of music. There’s an unpredictability and risk involved with playing it that often yields amazing results. It’s an incredibly beautiful thing and I’ve been obsessed with capturing those moments ever since.  “
